On 2020 November 23, there was a province-wide restriction update by the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), directing the temporarysuspension to the following activities:
- all group fitness activities (Yoga, Hot Yoga, Spin Class, HIIT, Martial Arts, Gymnastics, Dance Studios, Pilates, Strength and conditioning)
This temporary suspension is effective immediately. Participants registered in affected programs will be contacted.
All registered sport activities (such pickleball and badminton) are permitted to continue operating under ViaSport’s Return to Sport Phase 3 guidance.
A reminder that masks are now required for everyone in all public indoor settings and workplaces.
The Recreation team continues to monitor all PHO restrictions and sector guidelines to ensure that our COVID-19 safety plans are in compliance with orders and best practices.
Okanagan Falls (also known as OK Falls) is a special community based on the sound end of Skaha Lake.
Originally named Dogtown, which was derived from from the name Dog Lake ("skaha" means "dog" in the Okanagan language), the current name derived from the former small set of the falls that used to lie on the Okanagan River at the outlet of the lake.
Okanagan Falls is also an active community and is proud of its many parks, facilities and recreation programs. Many special events are held throughout the year and involve the entire family.
No visit to this area would be complete without getting off the beaten track and exploring some of our amazing back country communities and businesses, ranching country and geological marvels.
